Our neighbors from England came to visit. Since Richard shares my deep longing for the mountains, we set off on Saturday for the Pforzheimer Hütte. Our journey began in Sankt Sigmund, passing the Gleirsch Alm, which was still completely deserted. The starry night had brought crisp temperatures, and the visibility in the mountains was exceptionally clear.
During the hike, I had the chance to practice my English. We covered the usual “man topics,” but world leaders—from Boris Johnson to Putin and Trump—didn’t escape our scrutiny either.
After a delicious meal at the hut, we followed the circular trail back down into the valley. Along the way, we passed a vast pasture filled with hundreds of sheep being gathered for an early Almabtrieb. In the end, Richard was able to capture his favorite subject on camera.
